There was definitely a point (many, many points) where I wondered “What is the point of therapy during all of this? How could I just listen to my therapist lie to me that “what I was feeling anxiety about was related to my family” or “a feeling of desiring validation” when actually “No I think it’s because there is a once in a century pandemic going on and the entire world is matching up to what I thought was the world all along”. But ultimately I do know that therapy works for me. Inspirational bullshit hardcore slogans and aphorisms work for me. There is a truth in the vague sing along statements. Even if the people singing it could probably use some therapy themselves. And end of the day..we will just get through this all by taking it bird by bird by shitty puke filled bird.
