Remember early in the pandemic, if you can remember back that far, when everyone was sharing how during the plague Shakespeare wrote King Lear. Or was it Hamlet? Or The Taming of the Shrew? It truly doesn’t matter because people either used it to self flagellate themselves that they weren’t doing enough or self flagellate themselves into doing too much. And the answer was probably in the middle. This song is a testament to that. Whatever your opinion of these songs and the music. When I worked on this one I thought “Well..this was a very bad song I wrote. It doesn’t work and I have nothing for it”. And I remembered an adage I often use when working on things that my friend came up with. “Doesn’t have to be good. Just has to be done”.
It is done. And it is bad. Feel free to be bad. And screw Shakespeare.
